In the early 1980s, we, Dean and Bunny Frisbie, started visiting Suisun Valley, because it’s only an hour drive north of San Francisco. Drawn to the tranquility of this rural community, we bought a pear orchard in 1985. It was the fertile valley soils that attracted us, and is what continues to keep us here today.
Wines are crafted first and foremost in the vineyards, then placed in the artistic hands of our winemaker.

We named Ledgewood Creek after the creek that meanders along the northern border of our estate. We’re located right in the heart of the Suisun Valley AVA. By 1989, our pear orchard had been fully planted over to vineyards and we learned that our climate is perfect for growing many different grape varieties. We decided to grow Bordeaux, Burgundy, and Rhône Valley grapes. Our History Our Tasting Room

Winemaker Larry Langbehn Talks about Our Wines
“When I started working with Ledgewood Creek in 2002, I discovered a ranch with the highest diversity of unusually excellent quality grapes that I’ve seen in the last 15 years. It took about two years to figure out how to optimize the technical methods of winemaking, and how to blend these grapes to obtain the very best expression of the vineyard site. The results have been stunning.” ~Larry Langbehn
